Support A Local Fabricator

I admit it, I do carry a couple imported wood and faux wood blind lines.  These are the blinds you find for a discount everywhere and get the job done for a couple years - or work great in situations where you expect careless renters.  It is an option that works for select situations and back to the wall budgets.

For those with a little more financial flexibility, cheap is actually wasteful, because a little bit more on the front end gets you a lot more on the back-end.

For me personally, I love the quality and service provided by my local fabricator.  He has been around for a while and makes a really high quality wood and faux wood blind at a reasonable price.  Additionally, buying locally is good for jobs in the community and helps support the wellness of families in our own town.

But here is the rub, besides the local economic advantage of sourcing from a local provider, there nearness to the customer makes them more mindful of the job they are doing and the value they are providing.  They don't have the advantage of paying a dollar a day for labor, but they do have the advantage of having to face you at the grocery store or local school event.  They can not hide from their product like someone in China can and that makes all the difference.

Business people attempt to drive cost leadership by commoditizing products, but often just end up hiding the differences behind a facade.  Local fabricators do not have this luxury and must differentiate themselves by removing the facade with education.
This is why I always attempt to help my customers with a local or at least regional fabricator first.  Of course, I listen to their needs and budget and adjust accordingly, but in the end I want them to be fully informed of their options and trade-offs.  I would rather not get the job than tell someone what they want to hear - and then have to hide from them in the produce section - but that is just me and why I prefer local wood and faux wood blind fabricators.

Our 2" wood and faux wood blind calculator will give you an idea what you project will cost from our local fabricator.  Please kindly contact us if we can work with you on your project.
