The Great Arizona Housing Boom

Between 2003 and 2008, we were providing blinds for many of the new home builders through-out the state.  As such, we saw a steady increase in requests to measure and install wood and faux wood blind builder packages.  This was because people were adding every conceivable upgrade to their house mortgage despite the fact that the blinds could be purchased after close for a significant discount.  Crazy days indeed. 

Many still use the builder option, though it has gotten more competitive and less likely to be added to much tighter mortgage standards.  Shutters seem to be the favorite to add to mortgages now. 

Anyway, because of our leading position in the market we literally handled 1,000's of blinds per week and over the course of those busy years likely handled in excess of 100,000 wood and faux blinds.  You sort of feel like you have seen it all after a while, but, believe it or not, we still learn new things and still get that "hit" from seeing a house transformed with quality wood and faux wood blinds.
